Description

You receive persistent runtime error messages while playing Torchlight.

How to Resolve

Try the following steps:

1. Uninstall Torchlight.
2. Backup and delete your %appdata%\runic games directory. Game saves, configuration files, and mods are stored here, so make a backup copy first before you remove this folder.If the Hotspot mod manager is installed, please remove it for the purposes of troubleshooting.
3. Remove Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries from your machine. You can do this from the Control Panel. Please note that you will probably have more than one of the libraries installed.
4. Reboot your computer.
5. Reinstall Torchlight.

If you're getting the same problem, try installing this if your computer is 32-bit, or this if your computer is 64-bit.
