If you are running Windows Vista, 7, or 8, and you have installed the standalone version of Torchlight II to a restricted location such as C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86), you may receive a "Not enough disk space" message in the launcher when a patch becomes available for download.
Cause
In Windows Vista/7/8, the Program Files directories are a restricted location and require administrator privileges to make changes. This error typically occurs when you the launcher does not have sufficient write privileges for your installation directory.
This error may also occur if you run out of available disk space on the hard drive to which you have installed the game.
Resolution
- Verify that your chosen installation volume is not already filled to capacity.
- Re-run the Torchlight II launcher with administrator privileges (Right-click -> "Run As Administrator...").
Reinstalling the game to a less-sensitive user directory such as C:\Users\Public\Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2 should permanently resolve the problem; otherwise, you will need to run the launcher with administrator privileges each time a patch is available.
